Open-Source ERP for Canadian Businesses

Your accounting lives in one tool, inventory in a spreadsheet, HR in another, and project time in a fourth. Numbers never quite match, month-end takes days, and nobody trusts the reports. One open-source ERP platform gives you finance, inventory and supply chain, HR, and projects in a single system, so the same data drives every number you report.

Itsultant plans and builds ERP systems on Odoo and ERPNext for small and medium businesses and non-profits across Canada. Both are open-source platforms, so you are not paying a per-user licence to run finance, sales, purchasing, and operations in one place. You pay for the setup, the configuration, and the support that make the system fit how you actually work.

We start with a free assessment of your current tools, processes, and pain points, then scope a system to match. The result is one source of truth, Canadian tax handled correctly, and reporting you can act on.

What is included

What you get with ERP Solutions

Finance and accounting

We set up your chart of accounts, bank feeds, invoicing, and reporting so month-end closes faster and your financial statements come straight from the system.

Inventory and supply chain

Track stock across warehouses, set reorder rules, manage purchasing and receiving, and see real quantities and costs instead of guessing from a spreadsheet.

HR and payroll support

Manage employee records, time off, and recruitment in one place, and connect to a Canadian payroll process so people data stays consistent with your books.

Project management and time tracking

Plan projects, assign tasks, log billable and non-billable time, and tie project costs back to finance so you know which work makes money.

Multi-location and multi-company setup

Run several sites, warehouses, or legal entities on one platform with shared reporting, so head office sees the whole picture without rekeying data.

Canadian tax compliance

We configure GST, HST, PST, and QST rules for the provinces you operate in so tax is calculated, tracked, and reported correctly on every transaction.

Data migration and staff training

We move your customers, suppliers, products, and opening balances into the new system, then train your team so they can run it day to day.

Why open source

Why we build this on open source

Odoo Community edition and ERPNext are open source, so there is no per-seat licence fee to add more users to finance, inventory, HR, and projects. For a growing business or a non-profit watching every dollar, that removes a cost that per-user commercial ERP systems keep charging as your team grows. Being honest about it: the licence is free, but the real investment is the implementation, configuration, and ongoing support that make the system fit your business. Open source also means you are not locked into one vendor. The code and your data are yours, you can host on Canadian infrastructure if that matters for your procurement or trust requirements, and if you ever change providers the system does not walk out the door with them.

FAQ

Questions about ERP Solutions

What is the difference between Odoo and ERPNext, and which one is right for us?

Both are open-source ERP platforms that cover finance, inventory, HR, and projects without per-seat licence fees. Odoo has a large module range and a polished interface, while ERPNext is fully open and strong on manufacturing and inventory. During the free assessment we look at your processes and recommend the one that fits, rather than pushing a single product.

Will the system handle GST, HST, PST, and QST correctly?

Yes. We configure the sales tax rules for the provinces you operate in so tax is calculated on each transaction and reported accurately. If you sell across provinces or run multiple entities, we set up the rules for each so your filings match your records.

Can we keep our data on Canadian infrastructure?

Yes, that is an option. We can host your ERP in a Canadian region on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, or on infrastructure you choose. Canadian law does not require commercial data to stay in Canada, but many organizations prefer it for procurement, trust, or client requirements, and we support that.

How much does an Odoo or ERPNext implementation cost?

Pricing depends on how many modules you need, how much data has to move over, how many locations or entities you run, and how much custom configuration is involved. The software licence itself is free with Odoo Community and ERPNext. After a free assessment we give you a quote scoped to your project so there are no surprises.
